Mich Santillan - A Lifestyle Blog

This year, Goldilocks celebrates 50 Golden Years of being the country's number one bakeshop, having opened its doors to the public last May 15, 1966. Since then, Goldilocks has become a Filipino icon and a cherished family tradition for generations of customers.

As part of its ongoing festivities, Goldilocks has lined up delightful activities through its Birthday Caravan, including a two-day visit to Enchanted Kingdom. Employees, friends, loyal customers, and members of traditional and online media were treated to a carefree and fun-filled experience at the amusement park, in keeping the celebratory atmosphere of the 50th year anniversary.

Space Shuttle

Found at the SpacePort zone, the Space Shuttle is the country's first and only triple loop coaster, which turns upside down six times — that's 3 times while going forward and 3 times moving backwards. This 2-minute ride (which feels like an eternity) is scary, that we'd probably die if we try the giant roller coaster rides abroad. Still, the Space Shuttle is scary enough. This is not for the weak of heart.

Wheel of Fate & Ekstreme Ride

The Ekstreme Drop Tower really gives me more sweat in my hands. This ride is also not meant for weak hearts and cannot take the slow movement upward and seeing that you're already more than 100 feet above the ground, the air is kinda different and then it would stop for a second and then eventually drops off with an acceleration that will leave you shout for less than a minute. Can you just imagine, that's how fast it is.

Flying Fiesta

The Flying Fiesta is EK's giang swing ride, found beside the Grand Carousel. We ranked this higher than the Roller Skater because your feet, unlike the Roller Skater, is suspended in kid-air as the centrifugal motion of the ride tries to throw you around, up and down. A ride with your feet firmly planted on something solid is relatively less scary than the same ride with your feet suspended in the air. This is not the most exciting ride because, back when we were young, we're comfortable experimenting with various speeds and heights of the swing in our backyards and playgrounds.

The Goldilocks Birthday Caravan is one of many initiatives that the Philippines' best-loved bakeshop has undertaken this year, in order to commemorate five decades filled with sweet moments and countless Filipino celebrations. Even after half a century of leadership, however, Goldilocks is still moving forward, finding new and innovative ways to serve its next generation of customers.

Happy 50th Birthday, Goldilocks. More years to come! And thank you so much for inviting me!

I've been blogging for 6 years and I haven't attended any blogger event. This year, I was lucky enough to attend The Philippines' Biggest Business to Blogger Networking and Marketing event hosted by When In Manila — Blogapalooza. And in partnership with Project Headshot Clinic, they launched a Digital Campaign called #ResponsibleMedia.

Blogapalooza started in 2011. It is the Biggest B2B: Business to Blogger event where businesses can meet bloggers and online influencers who can promote their companies, services, brands, and products. This year's Blogapalooza was held last October 25, 2015 at One Esplanade (beside SM Mall of Asia) with the theme "Seasons". Booths were divided into four groups — Summer Street, Winter Boulevard, Spring Lane, and Autumn Avenue.

I went to the event with my other blogger friend, Sab and this is our first time. Upon entering the venue, registered bloggers are given free IDs and Blogapalooza lootbags. The event is from 10AM to 9PM and booths from different brands lined up waiting to be visited by excited bloggers like me.

Having your gym workouts with your girl friends doesn't have to take a bulk of your time. Instead of the gym workouts, why not give circuit training at Curves Philippines a shot? Curves is a fitness facility designed for women, yes for women only, featuring a 30-minute workout and weight management program that is fast, fun and safe. Curves works because it gives you a complete cardio and strength-training workout where you can burn up to 500 calories every time. The circuit is made up resistance machines that work every major muscle group, two muscles at a time. And with a circuit coach to teach and motivate, you're sure to reach your fitness goals in no time. Whether you want to lose weight and inches, gain energy or tone up, the Curves circuit will work for you. Pia Wurtzbach will show you how Curves empower women. For first-time goers, I really have to say that Curves gym was the perfect way to get back on track to fitness!

Technology can be so wonderful! This cool new app could be your next shopping BFF. It'll help you save time and money! Snipe is a location-based shopping app that lets you in on all the deals and bargains that you can enjoy in the mall you're in, giving you shopping suggestions with a swipe of your fingers. Even David Guison is using this app. Once you're in the app, all you have to do is pick a category, and the deals will be presented as coupons. Just present it to a store representative to redeem the offer. You can already use it in the following malls: Alabang Town Center, Bonifacio Global City, Glorietta Complex, SM Mall of Asia, SM Megamall, and SM North Edsa. Snipe is available in Google Play and App Store. Download it now and start sniping!

Chips Delight gave me a pack of Chocolate Chip Brittle Brownie. I decided to take it home and let the delight reach my boyfriend. Haha!

A new form of online food delivery service is taking shape in the Philippines! Food Panda is an online food delivery that is both reliable and quick, and claims to already have more than 1,000 restaurants in its online portal. I practically prefer going to the restaurants or fast food chains to get my meals, but after knowing about this, I think otherwise. It will always be every busy bee and lazy ass's hero. Food Panda is available in Google Play and App Store. Download the app now and order your favorite food on the go. No online food delivery is too difficult for Food Panda!

Bagwings

Out of all the foods in the menu, I got Bagwings Plate. Bagnet + Chilli Wings. Roasted pork belly, chilled, and deep fried to perfection. This is when North meets South. Ilocos way of cooking done in Cebu's timeless recipe. That's Bagnet Fusion! And the chicken wings, breaded with their own mix of spices. Deep fried, glazed with their Oriental Chilli Sauce, then a hint of Bagwings Chilli Oil for some kick. Perfect mix!

If Ilocos had their Bagnet Fusion, Cebu had their Lechon. Manong's Lechon Cebu.

With so many attendees and booths, it seemed that One Esplanade wasn't big enough for the event. Maybe a bigger venue next time? Another thing I noticed was the lack of chairs or benches where the attendees can eat or sit. Blogapalooza was a whole day affair and finding a spot to rest had been quite difficult. In an event where likes, follows, and hashtags mattered, wifi should've been the priority. Not all bloggers are postpaid users, has pocket wifi, or data plans.

Sab and I weren't able to stay for the duration of the event as we are both tired and sleepy.

All in all, it was fun and unforgettable Sunday. I was so full of food, knowledge, and enjoyment even though my muscles were sore carrying around the freebies and four (4) lootbags. Congratulations and thank you to all the people behind this event. I'm looking forward to the next Blogapalooza!

Here's a video of Blogapalooza Seasons 2015, made with love by our friends from Decisive Moments.
